Update thus far

Wow, it's been so hard to remember to post anything in this journal. I'm so used to my LJ -and more recently, to Facebook- that I'd almost forgotten about this cute little journal.

So, for anyone who is curious (or who can't/doesn't read my LJ), a speed-update on my life since Spring:

So, when I had last posted in here (a test to see if it posted over to LJ), I was single, unemployed, and pretty much about as middling-to-low as I could be. I was getting interviews, sure, but nothing much beyond that. I was single (though I wasn't completely sure I had an issue with that). I just felt...kinda there.

Shortly after my last post on here, I had a meeting with my Guild. For anyone new to my life in general, I do Renaissance Faires with a group that reenacts the court of Queen Elizabeth I. And I would be totally remiss if I didn't mention the help I had that meeting day in getting up to the meeting site; namely my solely-then-guildmate Justin. In short, after that meeting, he and I agreed to start looking into being more than friends and guildmates.

Yeah, bet you can guess where that went. As of the end of June, he is now my best friend and boyfriend. After a couple dates and a couple false starts, I started going up to his area (He lives in Sylmar, in L.A. county, I live in Ramona, in San Diego County. Yup, a bit far.) and that's been that. He's met my parents -who really seem to like him, all in all- and I've been doing more with the Guild in terms of Faire. I went to my first Pirate Faire up at Lake Casitas in Ojai, and fell in love with the area. I hope they keep both the spring Ojai Renaissance Faire and the fall Pirate Faire there, it's such a great location. (Besides, where else could they move it to?) This month, I'm gearing up for a) Justin and his family visiting San Diego this weekend, b) my next visit up to Justin in a couple weeks, and c) Fall Escondido Faire. Should be a great month.

In better news on the job thing, I did get a job. My very-awesome friend Robert recommended me to his dad to do work for them for a company they're starting up. While it's still very early, things may be promising enough for this to be a permanent thing. Here's hoping, since I could use the funds for my visits up to L.A., for Faire, and for school stuffs. (On academia, I've been putting in apps, I just need to wrap things up and get them done. Here's hoping!)

Nothing much else exciting. Just a general overview of the past few 'silent' months of my DW usage. I hope I can remember to post in this more. :)
